
- Avoid before-bed snacks, particularly grains and sugars
- Sleep in complete darkness or as close as possible
- No TV right before bed
- Read something spiritual or religious
- Get to bed as early as possible
- Eat a high-protein snack several hours before bed
- Also eat a small piece of fruit
- Avoid caffeine
- Avoid foods that you may be sensitive to
- Don't drink any fluids within 2 hours of going to bed
- Take a hot bath, shower or sauna before bed
- Don't change your bedtime
- Make certain you are exercising regularly
- Establish a bedtime routine
- Remove the clock from view
